Every Bird Can Fly Now

Title: Every Bird Can Fly Now
Duration: 2 hours
Software: Photoshop CS3

When I saw the theme: Flight, all I thought was an airplane & birds. So decided to combine them into one. Air Asia is part of the inspiration as well. I think there's no need for me to explain the story behind it cuz it's already very clear.

This week I really don't have time to do any realistic/detail work so I settled for something simple & cartoony. Sorry if this piece bores you. (^_^;)

S.A.V.E. (Synchronized Aeriel Versatility Exoskeleton)
Well, the theme did call for "Flight", so that is what I did.
Yes, for once I posted something colored! That's good news for me~ xD

madame copy

When i thought of flight a butterfly popped into my mind for some reason. So i just went with it This is Madame butterfly and her bad-ass side kick Spegg...I made her kinda borderline goth/emo but with feminine butterfly wings to portray a contrast in personality that people have..Same goes for her sidekick.I tried making him cute with his mini wings but he obviously has an attitude..:P

flight

When talking about flight, I always remember Icarus; the Greek mythology about the boy who flew too close to the sun that his wax and feather wings melted and he plummeted into the sea. Lots of pictures depict the parts before his take of, the melting and falling of Icarus. I wanted to depict the part where the decision was made, at the pinnacle where the story divided.

Between buying and packing, flying to another continent, spending precious time with friends and family, and my dad hogging my laptop, I didn't have much time this week to complete the task.

Will have to get faster and better =)

Flight

I dedicate this drawing to my brother, Danial.

He has always wanted to become a pilot ever since he was 15. But he thought he couldn't because he does not have 20/20 vision. But he knew what his dreams were, even when they seemed to be impossible for him. He was so miserable when he went through engineering. It made him even more sure that piloting was his dream.

But against all odds, and sometimes I believed it was divine intervention, he is now a MAS cadet and about to graduate next month. For 5 years he held on to his dream and he got it in the end.

Needless to say it wasn't an easy journey, but I believe he knows it's all worth it.

And so I decided for this theme, I drew for him a little graduation present. That is him, with his two bars (see his shoulder) signifying that he can now fly twin-engine aircrafts. The plane he is flying is a Diamond DA40 that (I think) he used for training.

Lastly I want to say, his story is inspiring to me. It taught me to never ever EVER let go of my dreams and to fight for it. And that the sky is not the limit.

And as a sister, I'm proud to see my little brother spread his wings, finally take flight =)

p.s: I didn't know until now that he is currently flying this plane. my bad. the engines are damn hard to draw anyway lolololol.

Flight the Ambitious Dream

A little boy dressed in a pilot outfit, playing with his toy plane when he suddenly looks up to see a real jet plane above him. I WASN'T CHEATING!!! I ONLY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY WEAKNESS!!! LMAO! yeah well, i cant draw a plane so why not just make a shadow and be done with it? there you go~ another hidden meaning from yours truely with this week's theme. Hope you all like ^ ^

Also, to those who had always been voting for my work, i would like to thank you all for the support coz it really motivates me to do better and to have more confidence in my work ^ ^ Thanks guys!

Cuttle - 'Flight' + Spaghetti

"Spag-A-Tee Delivery, at your service! You ordered a plate of carbonara, sir?"

I tried a different approach on this theme but I think I kinda failed at trying to mix my punishment into the theme, hahah... OTL I just thought it'd be interesting if food delivery would come with wings!

THE GREAT FLYING ITALIAN KITCHEN!
by Reeis / SYChee

Concept & Research - 3 hours
Final Artwork - 2 hours
Uploading on a Streamyx Connection - 1 hour T_T

Thanks Sara & Y'ng for allowing me a few hours extension.
I honestly thought this would only be done next week, cos I'm still feeling uselessly sick.
Somehow got it done today...thanks
Artist's Comments

Story Behind the Logo:
Poor Luigi came all the way from Sicily to New York. Had only 5 USD in his pocket. Worked hard, saved all he could, and dreamt of opening up his own restaurant. Unfortunately, he didn't have enough for a shop...but he did had enough for a beat-up, authentic Royal Italian Navy Sopwitch Baby! So, he used his noodle, and whipped the beat up plane back into shape and gave it a pasta kitchen. Even did the logo himself, thank you very much. Business was good. New Yorkers loved the quirky new joint that's usually parked outside the city, and they can't get enough of the "air-flown" catering!

Unfortunately, again, poor Luigi lost the plane. Those American government people were tight assess about the health regulations of a flying restaurant. Not to worry, Luigi made enough to open up his own shop near broadway now. You can probably find his restaurant today if you look hard enough. The locals don't want the tourists ruining things. His two boys run the place now, bon appetite!

Influences & Inspirations
Two things inspired this logo - Studio Ghibli's Porco Rosso (look it up!) and some vintage Art Deco posters I saw in a magazine.

Somehow, the elements of flight, spaghetti and those two influences clicked in my head.
And it sounded absurd and fun, so I had a go at it.

The Art Deco period inspired me because of the awesome illustrations they used very heavily in their ads. Also, I read they delibrately In this period, people lived with great optimism and really enjoyed life to counter the hardships and sadness of World War 1. This is reflected in their lavish and decorative logos and all other artwork

Porco Rosso gave me a glimpse of what it was like to live in those times, so full of spirit and guts.
Also, Ghibli gave the movie a incredibly memorable touch by injecting the characters with this innocent sense of humour and adventure. I mean, in the first five minutes you'd see air pirates being bullied by kindergarden school GIRLS! And the adult characters do still dream of a better tomorrow, just like how small ids do. I'd watch this movie over and over again!

So, got the humour and the feel of the 1920s from the flying pig anime, and the new style from the period the movie and posters were from the same period. Did a heck of alot of research, especially on the fonts, which must improve. Then I drew everything first by hand, then finished in Adobe Illustrator.

Other notes:
Am still feeling ill, so drew this in a semi-dreamlike state. Just did it for fun, with love. Hope you like it!

@Y'ng: first thing i thought.. Airasia ad? Y'ng kena sponsor edi ah? hahahaha. cute idea! and the illustration style suits this cutesy and playful scenario XD

@Adam: I loooove her outfit. I love the slits of light on her outfit, really looks like it is glowing. Her wings look interesting though, but could be refined a lot more. at the moment it looks like jelly and could not realistically make her fly XD

@Andrew: LOL a spaghetti noodle as a sidekick. clever XD i almost thought you forgot about the punishment! Anyway, i really like your choice of colours. So bold and catches the eye XD Madame Butterfly sounds like an interesting character!

@Daphne: I practically giggled like a schoolgirl when I saw this. Blame that one particular bird who so happens to *cough* block something out of the viewer's sight.
I loved the story behind this, so glad you took it up and illustrated in a cutesy feel XD

@Nat: LOL good use of ur "weakness" xP it makes it all the more interesting in my opinion! I can see ur getting more confident in ur drawing, so keep it up! Ur getting better each time ^^

@May Hooi: Awwww. And I like how you cleverly used photos to make this illustration. interesting technique. i should try it one day o_O

@Kelly: OMG THIS IS SO CUTE CAN I HUG THE BEE PLS. Seriously, I really really like this. The girl's expression, the design of the bee, the texture used to give it a finished look.. Very nice and light-hearted!

@BAHAHAHAHA I practically burst out laughing when I saw this. I would soooooooo want this to happen!! And I have to thank ur random mind of thinking of this up XD

@Reeis: ho. ly. spaghettini this is a really kick-ass logo! i wished i opened a shop with this logo! hahaha. yes the vintage feel really does come through, mainly from the colour scheme and the elements used. very well-done. my only crit is the font "just like how mama makes it" does not seem to fit with the rest of the logo. but overall, very very very good work reeis! and for someone sick too! *feels ashamed*

Conclusion: I CANNOT CHOOSE WHO I WANT TO VOTE FOR THIS ROUND TAT i'll vote later.

@Everyone - YAY!!! Sara tells me everyone passed up on time XDDD
does this mean the assignment board's working?

@Myself - Must. Edit. Long. Assed. Comments.
I'm back! Now am recovering from illness, rewarded myself by having a lot of fun with
this theme XD whoever thought up of Flight +
Spaghetti, you have my thanks!
Will comment on other themes soon.
Will probably be one of the 1st to put stuff in Skull Yard. Whee~

@Y'ng - LOL! love the humour, especially the "normal" bird w/ the sweat drop.
Maybe u can reduce the amount of Red though, make the windows closer.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel the empty space reduces the joke's impact. Takes awhile to see all the characters in the image.
Whereas ur Rainbow Stars image allowed me to appreciate everything in one look.

@Adam - another sexy babe, nice eye candy as always XD Now u can do color...I want to see
more skin!

@Andrew - I like the way u give ur characters some kickass attitude. clearly seen in her body language and her dressing. Colors are great,
the contrast of black and the firey colors got me hooked. What inspired the side kick, though? That bit distracted me abit.

@Daphne - ...zomg, there's a bird on a bird.
I didn't think u had it in u. Lol!
Anyways, I love the great line work u have put in, and the starburst effect really gives
the illustration a good sense of depth.
I must say, I really am starting to like the works with super-original concepts (Black Sheep, Star) over the ones based in myth/external sources (Innocence,Flight)
Somehow those more personal works connect better with me, I think of them more often.
Please don't get mad at me, just hope to encourage you to show the world more of ur zany
and cerebral brand of humour XD

@Sara - As always, the story behind ur artworks are A+ material. I really felt touched reading your description. But, I'm left wanting to see more from your illustration. I think you have to find a way to get ur artwork and ur story
work on the same level - like some of those super simple but somehow deep illustrations styles. xkcd's nerdy, romantic & slightly dark style comes to mind (http://xkcd.com/150/) or
Pon and Zi (http://www.ponandzi.com/)

@Nat - I feel one of an artist's personal responsibilities to themself is twisting weaknesses in their favor. Kudos on that XD really, really like the delicious sense of "wanting to fly" u've captured in this illustration.
The shadow is realistic, but the grass looks too sharp compared to our young hero. I is picky, heh.

@May Hooi - I like the composition, the gentle drop shadows and the "S" curve creates the illusion of a easy flight, on an peaceful day. Can see this on a calendar somehow. Think about it =)

@Kelly - Awesome pro-looking shading and textures. I like the dynamic feeling ur composition (the wings! nice!).
Need to balance the differences
in the shading details bee and the girl's faces. Maybe my brain's missing the highlight in the girl's eyes and goggles.
Dunno. Slap me if I'm being to picky. Really looking forward to seeing ur work in a children's book one day XD

@Maiki - Hehe...someone did the punishment int advance like I did XD I appreciate ur unique humour - only u could have done this illustration and got this feeling to it.
The colors make me feel like the artist at the table feels like..."DENG - omg, wtf?"
at seeing the hermes-wannabe delivery guy though. Was that intended?

@ Sara - it means alot of me that u stayed up to post my stuff, and that u commented as u did. Thanks again XD

And we can both dream of such a shop, eh?
U can cook, ur bro getting pilot license, I can scheme up a way to get a plane XD

Any advice on the "just like how mama makes it!" line? Looking forward to ur advice =D

I think I should do more Illustration + Graphic Design work. Potential to develop this into a comic / movie poster illustration.

...Also can't decide. Will vote later.

@myself - Oh man I had alot of fun with this weeks theme!!.But I think I could have made the 2 characters interact more..Now that I look at him he kinda looks like a limp noodle ( no pun intended...:P)

Also I think i need to start creating work that has more meaning like Sara's , Daph's and Reeis's cause after reading their descriptions I really fell more in love with their works..Will try working on that

@Y'ng: Haha I laughed inside when i saw the expression of that duck. His expression is priceless.Funny stuff. But I think the plane could be abit slimmer.

@myslef - Need to be more detailed and try experimenting with textures next time

@Adam: Hey Adam!! Welcome!! As usual your chicks kick ass. But the wings can be more detailed. Maybe you could try changing the transparency of it to give it a different effect as well..Cause now the wings look kinda stiff..But Im loving the glowing power suit..

@Daphne: Ahh so AWESOME!!And I loved it even more when i read the description. Just the thing that got my attention was the one bird that was so strategically placed..Dunno if thats a good thing? Haha

@Nat: Really nice. I feel like a kid again when I look at this piece (which is a good thing)..But i think the shadow on the toy plane can be readjusted..It kinda looks like its floating to me..

@May Hooi: Haha another simple and straight forward piece.

@Kelly: SO SO AWESOME!! I love all the textures and the childlike feel to it!! Cant wait to see what you come up with next week

@Maiki - Ooo nice idea.Wish i had a flying delivery dude send me food to my room.As usual the drawing is grade A.

@Reeis: My my my..People should hire you to create Logo's for them. Not only cause its kick ass but cause you obviously put your heart and soul in it with all the research and information provided. Really great stuff and I feel the real authenticity that come through. Really wonderful.

My one critic is that I dunno whether it was what you intended but the spacing of the logo. Like the top part of the circle looks like it was cropped of..right at the tip..Maybe by accident?
Conclusion: I just cant wait to see what you girls (and a guy) come up with next week!!

@Sara - Sorry termiss yours..hehe..Really nice piece and the the story behind the work is very inspiring. Nice one.Just maybe the plane could have more details? Like shadows or shading?

But the message behind it is wonderful

Thought the artistic renditions of Nat and Y'ng are of a professional standard and usable by top flight ad agencies. Detailing of a very high standard. Must have taken many hours.
Congrats to the rest though for very good ideas on the theme.
Steve de Souza

Wonderful work everyone! This is getting better and better ^^

@Y'ng : Hahaha a very funny idea there, certainly one that would work wonderfully if AA chose to allow pets on their flight in the future. Well done shading and colouring within 2 hours, but I do agree with Reeis that the windows are a little too far apart. The render for the body of the aircraft is a little odd since light would be coming from all directions... maybe have a look at some references of planes in the sky?

@Adam : Good work on managing to get it in clour there. I like the suit very much with it's light slits too. Making the whole thing one colour removes the intrcacies of the suits layout though I feel. You have a lot of detail there that could be highlighted more. The wings are a little iffy because I'm not sure if what they're made off. It might be easier to shape each part of the wings if they were in separate layers =)

@Andrew : I didn't really get the speghetti sidekick until I read the comments but that could be because I've totally forgotten about the punishments :P Good figure, though perhaps her hands and feet could use more shape. Very well done on the colouring there =)

@Me : *shoots self* Thanks for liking it guys. And to Reeis, yeah I like the ones with personal feelings more too, so I'm not mad =) Just wish I had my laptop more at home =_=

@Sara : Congratulations to Danial for living his dreams! A meaningful and pretty picture you've painted there. Some highlights might help make it shine (oh pun!)

@Nat : Job well done. I'm really glad for all your progress here and glad you stayed because you certainly are flying that plane overhead as we look on. The only comments I have are that there would be a thin line of a shadow on the side facing the light of the boys feet and the plane so that they look more grounded in that sense =)

@May Hooi : It certainly would be a relaxing image to put in a calender as Reeis mentioned.

@Kell : Y'know... when all is said and done, it would be an ideal idea to publish and artbook of your works here. They're all in that same style and form and I'm sure it'll look fantastic. Nice sketch and colour scheme though you might want to mask out for that stray bit of blurred wing overlapping the bees head =)

@Maiki : Fun stuff. I wish all deliveries were like that :P

@Reeis : You're back! And with great stuff as well =) I love the stylistically old look and the fork plane. Perhaps look into different fonts for the words because I'm wondering how it would look like in bold or wider text.

@ Andrew - hehe, didn't realize the cropped bit. Will fix it soon XD and thanks for your encouraging words. I'm glad you can see the hard work I've put into this.
Looking forward to seeing more visual stories from you! You go, bro!

@ Steve de Souza - Hi Uncle! Thank you for your support, it means alot to hear such heartening comments from outside the group. (Guys, in case you don't already know, this is Sara's dad. Be polite ah, say hi and thanks XD)

@Daphne - thanks thanks XD actually, most of the time I spent online was hunting down a super thick font, found some awesome ones but they were not freeware T________T
Was looking for this sort - Awesome fat ones, especially the Cardiff Giant and David Harum ones(http://afewlinesaboutline.blogspot.com/)

Wanted this so badly...but...probably cost me RM100 or more...omg
(http://letterheadfonts.com/fonts/coffeeshop.php)

So, if any of you DO find super-thick serif or sans serif fonts, please share. Love you for it~<3

@Yng: WAHAHAHAHA...really love the idea! love the expressions of the birds in the plane (especially the chicken!) sell this to air asia :p

@Adam: nice colouring on the clothes. dont forget to colour your next art work hehe :)

@Andrew: Very eye-catching. the butterfly wings is so cool~ her feet looks a little weird though :S

@Daphne: Cute! :D i like the perspective, made it totally unique, and as usual, drawing and colouring is awesome

@Sara: Your brother must be very happy to see this :) i love the clouds, nicely done, its so cloud-ish

@Nat: looks good! nice grassy grass, shadows of the plane is nicely done too. ^^

@Kelly: you call this last minute?? doesnt look like a last minute work. this is the cutest bee i've ever seen (if only all bees are this cute) :p

@Maiki: I like the idea of everything is colourless except for the blue sky. Drawing is really good, just like a photocopied drawing from a manga xD

@Reeis: Haha very creative to use this theme as a logo. something totally different from the rest of us!

aaaaa...dont know which to vote >.<

@Reeis & Sara - Well I was thinking of a way to incorporate the punishment into the picture..so it was either a spaghetti necklace (which is kinda gross), a belt ( which will make her a fashion victim) or i thought maybe a cute sidekick with a badass personality..haha in the end its all about personality...haha

@Daph & Mh - Thanks girls!! And yeah i also admit my hand and feet drawings totally suck..The figure always ends up looking like he/she is physically deforme. Need to work on that.

@Steven De Souza - Hi Uncle. Thanks for your support!!As someone who is outside cuttleinc your opinions are really appreciated and really important. Thanks!!

TO all..Thank you very very much for your comments & critiques XDXD

ok my turn now XD

:Y'ng:LOL!! when i first saw it, i couldnt stop laughing because the first thing
that comes to my mind is "Now everyone can fly - Airasia" LOL!! creative indeed
to make use of their slogan for this. The chicken and kiwi looks cute and yeap
like wat the rest comment - windows too small and far apart but other then
that is fine ^^

:Adam: Ahhhh~ long time no see your girls drawing. I like this, the costume is nice
with the neon light on it. would look great if your background is darker
so we can see the contrast of the outfit. But the wings need to work on it
they look kinda like rubber to me, not really a "fire feel" that blast
out from flights.
Hope to see more of your colored works dude~!

:Andrew: Interesting use of contrasting colors you have there. Really feels like
thoese marvel comics with spagetti as a side-kick LOL interesting XDXD
But i suppose you need to work on her leg, they look bloated XP and her
wings look quite stiff, so is her dress.

:Daphne: daph~daph~ LMAO!!! ROFL!! the first thing that captured my attention
is a bird tat flew below him to cover his *censor* part, LOL!! comedy enough XDXD
cute, simple and funny XDXD I soo like this, it can be a laptop skin XD

:Sara: sweet~ like what mh say, i believe your bro will be soo happy to see this.
Its really really sweet and congratulation to him for his dream comes
true :D

i suppose sara should add more details to the plane, it looks too simple.
Yeap thats all :D

:Nat: nat! nat! LOL!! i salute ur weakness XDXD makin use of the shadows to
show a plane, amazing XDXD I would hav not thgt abt that XD cute and nice :D
But yea, your grass is flat cos the it looks like the kid is floatinf
on the grass! Dont be lazy to do that part properly even if you
wana cheat XDXD

:Mh: Simplicity says it all. Meaningful, sweet and nice. This can be a postcard you knwo.
I like the sky background, nicely done but your grass seems too neat. Nedd
to work that out :D

:Maiki:wooo if theres delivery to my windows or office window, i would be soo happy XDXD
So i dont have to move away from my seats XDXD
Nicely illustrated, simple and neat.

:Reeis: REEIS!! I sooo soo like your logo!! such interesting combination you made there.
Who would have thought!! Genius!! You got mai vote for this!!

Hello everyone and sorry for the late comment XD wow! I'm so glad to see everyone submitted for This theme! I just noticed that there is a lot more variety now that you can see all the artist's work up O_O Its amazing!

@ ying: omg i love this humor!!! Its really a good advertisement actually! The only comment i have is probly u might wanna give the inside of the plane more depth. So it will look like a real plane interior. Coz the more i look at it, it can sometimes not look like a plane. More like a bridge or something else in the sky ^ ^' just my a thought.

@ adam: For some reason i dont like the colors combination.. Maybe if u make the wings glow in bright yellow white and orange it will look a bit more interesting. And yes.. more skin please? aahhahahahaa!!! XD but really man... I salute you for the robo costume! its so COOL! Keep it up!

@ andrew: Seriously i love your characters and i really do wonder what they do for a living coz it would be one heck of an interesting story XD Maybe u should consider that sometime ahahhaa! Well, i see u use a lof of black here and black is a dangerous color if u use it too much coz it tends to give a messy look. and here i just find the center wings part a lil messy coz the ends of the black didnt quite blend in with the yellows and it gives a solid look rather than a soft blending look of colors. Maybe next time from black to yellow u can add a lil brown inbetween to make it look blend. Overall, ur doing a good job ^ ^

@ daphne: At first i wanted to draw Icarus too XP But i malas draw detailed wings ahaha and i am amazed u can make it in a simplicity way! But yeah, u know the flaw lah. Bird at the bird place.. I wonder whether u are trying to interpret a meaning there.. >)

@ sara: You won my vote coz i am touched with ur dedication towards ur bro for acheiving his dreams. And i am touched with ur bro's courage to go for his dreams, and this drawing really says it all ^ ^ great job!

@ myself: Reeis is right! The grass is too sharp! u forgot to blurr it out a little! And why do i still see a stain beside the boy's lips? how can u be so careless u moron! +_+

@ mh: Calendar or a business card XP I love the fact its neat and gives a relaxing mood~

@ kelly: When i saw this suddenly the thought of Doremon suddenly crossed my mind... dunno why but DAMN!!! U ARE SO GETTING GOOD! And u know i am always fond of ur imagination and creativity towards ur art! Its soooooooooooooooo amazing!!!! I dunno what to comment oso LOL! GREAT WORK!

@ maiki: I wish i can draw like u... wow!! i really love ur art i dont know what to comment bout it cept it looks good! Great job with the punishment ^ ^

@ reeis: Yeah believe it or not i missed u. And i am glad to see ur back on cuttle again! :D This logo looks delicious! Just next time give the top a lil more blank space coz it looks like u didnt crop it properly and the font for the "just like how mama makes it" could be better. Overall love it!! X3

Sniff* Sniff*, you guys dunno how happy I am when 'EVERYONE' pass up their artwork. THANK U!!! Pls keep this up ya!

Alright, before I start commenting, I wanna say thank you to everyone for your comments! XDDD Originally, the artwork is supposedly an AirAsia ad. However, due to copyright reasons & it's a non-education artwork, I took out the AirAsia logo. >.<

@adam: hmm... the colour combination is kinda bad in my opinion. maybe you could have blue flames for the wing instead of orange. nonetheless, your character mecha design is well done indeed. XD

@andrew: i see some big improvement in your work! nice! can still work out on your body proportion ya. XP

@daphne: Wahahaha! I see censored!!! This is really sooo cute! Nice to see some dif style from you. But i kinda like the one you did for the theme 'Star'. I see your real talents in there. XD

@sara: You got my vote for this cuz it really touched me. All the best to your bro ya! For the art, i think you could add some tone & shading to bring out the 3D shape. it might look better. ^^

@nat: i absolutely love your plane shadow. Only one downfall about your artwork is that your grass & the boy doesn't blend well at all. It's either you make your grass cartoony like the boy or the boy more realistic looking. However, i see a huge improvement in your illustration skills. Pls keep it up gal! XDDD

@mh: simple & nice. But... i think it's better you do it in illustration rather than photo manipulation cuz i dun see real talent from this artwork. So i hope the next one will be in illustration ya. ^^

@kelly: kinda to believe that this is a last minute work. Your colouring has improve tremendously & I'm luvin it! Pls keep it up! oh btw, it will be nice to see something dif beside the same girl, but that's just my preference. XP

@maiki: LOL! Well done! I can see both you & reeis hv the same idea but executed in a dif way. nice! As usual, your artline is just awesome! I wished i could learn to do it too. Any tips? XD

@reeis: Whoot! Nice to see you back in cuttle my twin! It's aso great to see something different from the rest! Hehe! Absolutely love the slogan: "Just like how mama makes it". I feel that your vector art is better than your illustration work. But that's my opinion. Do hope to see some good work from you ya. ^^

Hey, thanks for the critiques all of you. And, um...@nat n reeis; mind telling what do you mean by "more skin"? This is a general gallery, okay? But then again....xD

Okay, k, back to the comments:

@Y'ng: Liking the cool penguin. Geddit, geddit?...ah, nuts.

@myself: getting shot down by the color schemes. Sorry if the wings are a let down guys. I was in a rush to finish it. = =

@Andrew: Nice fighter, but the legs are a bit wierd, yes? And the speghetti sidekick...looks more like a snake~ Sorry.

@Daphne: I really like your style a lot...Nuff said. T^T

@Sara: If planes were like that, i'd think it wont get off the ground. But it has a nice feel to it.

@Nat: Nice usage of shadows to potray the kid's ambition of flying. Although the model airplane beside the kid looks a bit wierd but i get the whole picture.

@MH: Er... *thinks* I think i have that as a magnet on my fridge but it's when my younger sister left for Australia. xD

@Kelly: I wanna ride that bee too~! Nice composition and the flow of the drawing gives out a nice feel good feeling of flight.

@Maiki: Yes, i would like a special, extra large with extra sauce, 2 medium combos, 2 with extra meatballs, and....xD But overall, i like the feeling of this drawing: it's simple. I like that.

@Reeis: Imma gonna steal this signage and use it to open up a restaurant. Nice logo design! xD

p.s: im no longer going to check the poll results: it's really bringing me down, but i still will take in critiques, no problem~ x3

O hey just in case anyone was still wondering, the bird censor was done on purpose XD

Ahaha that's the third comment I've heard of the poll being depressing ^^; I can be, a little.

Oops! I meant *it*

Hmmm... you know, we should find a way to advertise our cuttle blog. Need to bring in more viewers. It can make a big difference in the poll. I think so far the voters are among ourselves, family & some friends. =.=;

@Y'ng: I love penguins so I love how you gave him some merit over here! ;Db The idea is just so cute!

@Adam: I love the colour scheme on her, the blue light lines go with her black outfit. Interesting design too. :)

@Andrew: Everyone already commented on the anatomy so I'll spare you from that. XD I like how you mix yellow, red and black for her wings, but kinda wished the colors would blend in a bit smoother. Still, interesting character design here too! :D

@Daphne: Hahahah cute!! I like how the bird's blocking the 'view'. XDD

@Sara: Another cute pic too! The details in the hair kinda clashes with the pic's overall simplistic feel, though. Either way, I'm sure your brother would be glad to receive this! :D

@Natasha: You can feel the amazement coming for the young boy! The BG grass somehow looked out of perspective, though,

@May Hooi: This looks quite professional despite being last minute though! Such soothing colours and atmosphere in this. Good luck on your Australian flight!? 8D

@Kelly: I really love this little girl you always draw. She's so cute and innocent; someone you'd like to see as a main character in a children's picturebook. You made her look lovely having a flight here too. :)

@Reeis: I love this, it looks so professional! You sure have good vectoring skills, so it'd be a good idea to create a vector portfolio and try to take related commissions. :D

Lastly, thank you so much for the comments on my rushed job, everyone! XD Really, the monochromatic feel was more of a cheat but glad it fit in the pic. Yes, it's intended that you could 'see' the guy's surprise to the delivery man even without showing his face. I like that kind of 'invisible' humour in comics/illusts. :)

@Kelly: ThankyouThankyouThankyou XDDD The punishment theme really sparked it all. Really appreciate ur support!

@Nat: Aw, I missed yoouuu twooo~<3 Lol! Good to be back XD would appreciate some help on the "just like how mama makes" line, any suggestions?

@Y'ng: Aren't you proud we all passed up on time? XDDD I appreciate your comment on my vector work and my illustration work. Will continue to work hard on both, especially on digital illustration. Right now trying to break this artist block that has been following me since high school... >.< and we must discuss advertising and the voting system whn we meet up.

@Adam: More skin = more skin, less armour on your girl. Even Nat got it la, how can u not, haioh... Always liked your girls, hope your digital coloring will continue to improve (so I we can get more pron, right Nat? =D)

and don't steal my logo! Sara, her pilot bro and I are gonna open The Great Flying Restaurant first! Go back to drawing sexy girls, you! but thanks. I guess if you liked it tht much to steal it, I must have done something right ^^

@Daphne: again, I never thought you had it in you XD we must discuss the voting thing on

@Maiki: Ahah, I guessed right! The artist at the table WAS going "...wtf?" Guess ur illustration's a success in tht part, Maiki. and thanks for the vector portfolio suggestion. Didn't think of it before, actually XD;;

@Maiki & Y'ng, did you get the pun in Daphne's artwork yet? It's your most favourite genre =D

@Everyone: Wanna share an Adobe Illustrator trick with y'all: Ctrl+Y. This is what allowed me to speed up my work and meet the deadline. It gives u an outline view of your artwork, so u can pick points directly instead of constantly having to change layers or sending paths back and front and back again.
