charm

I thought "charm" would be such a cute theme, but the first thing that came to my mind was this image of deception. Not sure how others would read this, but it was certainly a fun little idea to experiment with.

I hope the follow up with the detail will make the idea clear =)

charm-detail

Detail for the previous image, in accordance to the Cuttle theme Charm.

Have fun deciphering =D

Unlucky Winnie

Title: Unlucky Winnie
Duration: 4 hours 15 minutes
Software: Photoshop CS3

Winnie is a young witch in training. She could have been one of the best students if she wasn't cursed by bad luck wherever she goes. In order to prevent from failing her training, Winnie has to wear a charm necklace given by her grandma who is a very well-known & powerful witch. Every month, she receives a new charm necklace. So now she has about 11 necklaces, therefore giving her a hard time to pick which one to wear for the day.

Winnie is always seen with her cat, Selina & her broom, Mr.Wood. They constant look out on her well-being despite being affected by her bad luck. Even with her wearing her a charm necklace, Winnie tendency to be oblivious with her surroundings.

Will she ever pass her training & overcome this curse? We will hv to wait & see. ^^

Ruthie's Gift

This theme was tough for me. I seriously had no idea what to draw as a charm. Until Tuesday came and i had to pass this gift Daphne got for Ruthie... and it was some japanese doll keychain. What surprises me was that when Ruthie took it out from the box, there was a hidden message behind the doll box and it says:

"My spirit honors truth and inspires trust. By honoring and seeking truth in all you preserve my spirit. Let your integrity be the hallmark of all your actions and you will inspire trust." - Masako (Doll of Honesty)

She then asked me if its some kind of charm and then it struck me to straight away draw what was on my mind at the thought of the scene XD imagine if the doll really had some kind of spiritual powers that grants Ruthie to be honest and never lie again! that would be so funny ahhahaha!!!

And yes forgive me, it was last minute :p

P.S: for those of you who don't know what 'william the first' is, its a new vocab for 'WTF' created by urs truly ;) use it wisely LOL!

Just when u think you are lucky, how lucky can u be? How much do you believe in lucky charms? Does it really bring you good luck? :p

charm copy

Really loved this week's theme.

The traditional Geisha's were known as walking pieces of art and they exemplify this with their grace, poise and beauty. But what I think made them desirable was the fact that they were always shrouded in mystery and that was a major part of their charm..

Though the traditional geisha .
always wore elaborate kimono's which pretty much covered them from head to toe. Madoka, a modern day geisha takes a more edgy (and provocative) approach to the overall outlook....

Dear: Prince charming

I had a hard time doing this too. Dont really know what type of charm to come out with. I only know it HAS to be a doll in a bottle o something XDXD
But i ended using the term - "Prince Charming" as my charm idea instead LOL!! (well the little bottle is a charm too XDXD)

The title says it all, a sad little fairytale depicting a girl seeking/waiting for her prince charming. But does he really exist? o prince charming is just another fairytale.....

Charm - Wishing for Reunion

Aqua clinging on to her lucky charm, believing that it'll help her reunite with her precious friends. Yes, it's another Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep fanart because I'M SUCH A FAIL.

I was working on a scenery background for this pic to give it a bigger impact and I even have other ideas to go with it, but my skills are too low to catch up with my image and I was running out of time, so I scrapped the BG and just give you this BLANK SPACE. If you find this to be very plain, yes, I know! I'll... try better next week....

Whoops, I just realized that her left sleeve isn't flowing the right way! Way to go, Maiki!

Charm

This week's topic is Charm, and I drew my original demi-god character, Quellis, casting a Charm. Stoic, doesn't get out much, has sickly pale complexion and smoke for hair. Has a good heart. Tried my best to make him look regal.

To me, a Charm allows you to control something. Or Someone. So I translated a Charm as a warm, bright and very sudden spell that envelopes the one it has been casted on. Very "in-your-face" once it's been cast your way.

Did this piece to test out some new Photoshop techniques. Thanks Y'ng for the tips, and Balistic Publishing for Digital Painting 2 XDDD

Need Feedback on the Colors (too much?) and the Quellis's face - does his eyes draw you in? Let me know, thx ;)

Charm

In folklore, a Succubus (illustrated above) is a demon who takes shape of a woman to charm and seduce men in dreams to have sexual intercourse *cough*.

They draw energy from men to sustain themselves. This results in the man's death in most cases.

Also, yay first fanart in a long time. This depiction of Succubus is from Ragnarok Online.
She's like... The hottest monster in RO everrrr *gets shot*. ...Also Incubus, which is the male version of Succubus :D

Yay! First! XDDD

Lol, always wanted to do that

@daphne: ... it scares me every time when i open charm cuz of the girl's eyes. It's haunting & I think it's seriously too big. hmmm... maybe it's better if you crop the the left side & just focus on the bracelet & the guy behind. Proportion wise, i think you need to fix your wrist & right shoulder. Overall, I love every single detail of your colouring esp the trap boys in the bracelet. It's very well done! Big star for u gurl! XD

@nat: LOL! Love the humor & expression here. If only I could actually see the real Ruthie's face doing this expression. HAHA! I aso want the charm!!! Anyways, i think the background is a bit confusing. Is it a comp lab? Her home? Her office? O.o;

@mh: simple & nice! Very cute & i like the style for this. But i feel the artwork isn't strong enough to portray the message. Something is just missing. maybe you should put some distance between the girl & the banana. and make the girl as if having a hard time carrying all the charms. But this is just my opinion. Love to see more of this style. ^^

@andrew: Wahaha! another porno! Anyways, another great improvement from u andrew! But the snake body needs to be fix, some parts look too fat. The woman so far is fine since it's mostly covered by the fans. And damnit, u did it using mouse! WTF?! I salute you on this dude! Keep it up! hope u will get a tablet soon & we can really see your true talents. XD

@kelly: This is really really lovely. I'll vote this is best work among your other great works. the whole piece is perfect, from creativity to execution. WELL DONE! ^^

@maiki: LOL! nothing much to comment cuz it's a fanart. As u said, her sleeve is on the wrong side. ^^;

@reeis: Nice to see a new artstyle from you. But your character still look stiff (esp shoulder part) & your hand & nose is a bit off proportion. maybe you should darken the hand so that it looks like it's in front. Overall, a new improvement & i like the background & the sparkles! Keep it up ya! XD

@sara: Oooo! another morrigan sister? haha! anyways, proportion wise, her shoulder is kinda small & her waistline is a bit too big (makes her look a lil fat). But overall, you manage to give out the seductive look in her. sexy!
Ps: doesn't she look like u in some way? XP

@y'ng: morrigan sister? what is that? O.O and thanks! yes i do realize she looks fat hahaha. but i didn't realize her shoulder is small. thanks again!
p.s: LOL I wished I look like her! hahaha

@Daph: my first reaction was O_O whoa her eyes! i guess it's kinda obvious that you wanted the eyes to be the main focus, but because it's the main focus i guess you have to make it look more, believable? her iris looks kinda harsh/hard at the moment. maybe for this instance you could use a soft-edged brush. maybe the black outline of the eye is also making it look harsh?
i love the charms she is wearing. my first thought was, "is that Cloud and Aerith?" LOL! but yes I think I know what the idea is =P should I keep quiet and let other people try to decipher it?

@Y'ng: Cute! I love the character design a lot, and the story behind it. Nothing much I can fuss about. A minor one would be the background colour makes everything else look dull, unless that was the look you were going for.
p.s: her right cheek looks flat haha. pointed this out coz i noticed her left cheek was very well-shaded and really looked round.

@Nat: Bwahahahaha I just love this! The colours, the vibrancy, the energy behind this. I love Ruthie's expression. I find it is very clever that you only coloured the doll and left everything else monochromatic, which effectively makes it the main focus of the illustration. :D

@May Hooi: Heee heee heee this is so cute. I love the fact you made the objects appear flat as paper, with the shadows and all, it gives it this unique look. very cute character design XD and the details on the paper charm is lovely!

@Kelly: awwwww this is so cute and sad at the same time. I wish i had a charm like this. nothing i can comment on in technical terms. very well-executed!

@Maiki: don't fret over the background, I actually prefer it to be plain. puts more focus on the character itself! it also looks like Aqua is watching the setting/rising sun. so no worries :D
p.s: i actually didn't notice the sleeve XD; so i think it's no biggie.

@Reeis: the effect of the swirl is really nice! and really nice choice of colours for you illustration. my only concern was that there's no obvious main focus. if you wanted the eyes to be the main focus, make the areas around his eyes and his eyes itself a bit darker, or have more contrast. at this point, everything looks washed out and bright. just my two cents :D

@Myself: I regretted choosing this pose TAT

@Daph: Her eyes... o_o. Excellent concept! Prince/Man-eater charm bracelet. Succubus? May I suggest a different composition? Maybe u can just have a shot of her lips, hand and the bracelet (like here http://bit.ly/dmBu17) The head seems to take way too much space away from the charm bracelet, which I believe is the star of the illustration. Full size Prince and those little ones stuck in the bracelet = <3

@Y'ng: I like the story! somehow feel it's been inspired by that Training ur Dragon book u love so much XD stick with this current style of big, clear eyes! somehow wanna see more eyes like this frm u XDDD

@Nat: Coloring & Outline = <333 Especially poor Ruthie going William the First. Artwork looks like those new American newspaper comic strips. Idea is a bit cluttered - doesn't give the strong emotional connection ur other works have.
Oh, and here's ur beloved William The First (http://bit.ly/KLquy) Turns out hee was crowned King of England on Christmas. Epic Xmas pressie XD

@MH: Girl's hair's strokes need work, too shaky. Maybe just drawing a few lines will serve better than a whole head of lines? I love the Japanese charm! and this illustration poses an interesting question. I guess ur answer to it might be no, eh? XD

@Andrew: ah, back to the fashion-illustration style XD again, I like the Tattoo-like composition and the texture of the fans. Top hand is good, bottom one is looks like she's pawing the fan. Drawing hands take awhile XD;;

more comments to come tmr...sleepy now...zzz

@Andrew: this is weird, i wrote your comment but it for some reason disappeared O_O;;
anyway, i remembered saying something like i love her outfit (or lack thereof XD) the design is very nice!
also, maybe you want to place her dead-center coz at the moment she if off-center. i dunno, kinda looks awkward seeing her just sliiightly to the left hahaha.

@sara: Morrigan is an infamous succubus from Darkstalkers. (http://fc00.deviantart.com/fs15/f/2007/112/d/9/Morrigan_by_Artgerm.jpg)
The background was intended. I've tried using bright colours... it really doesn't blend well with the characters. >.< It took me an hour to decide on the background colour. so far this is best for me. But thanks for the comments!

@reeis: Thankies! glad u like it! ^^

@me : Sorry guys, bad composition. I'll have to push this expression further I guess. And the eyes actually started out a lot bigger cause it was lined in manga style XD She's more of a Prince Charming "collector" so dunno if that falls under succumbus too. Thanks for the input :)

@Y'ng : Adorable story and charactert there Y'ng :D Love how her Mr. Wood has an expression too. Proportion wise, from the neck up can be shifted slightly to the right I think. The perspective for the pink box needs to be a little more slanted too to follow the curve of the platform. The rest is great :D

@Nat : William the First XD

@May Hooi : This would make a pretty funny good luck card actually :P I wish the treatment you did for the shadowing was more even though, cause for the moment the uneven shadowing for the girl, ribbon and clover and the nonexsistant shadow for the banana and rabbit makes it a little odd. I also think that the banana peal could be placed a little further to inspire anticipation =)

@Andrew : Very pretty, a job well done with a mouse! However, I think you can use a little more form in your art. Like the cloth could look more flexible and her lower arm could use more shape instead of being too thin. The albino snake is awesome, but the part at the bottom has no defining lines so it looks like the snakes body ended in a huge flat bulge instead of curling around her as I think you wanted. Have a little care for placement too, for at the moment your character can be placed a little more to the left :)

@Kell : This is a great improvement from the last theme :D I love that you've put a little patch of flowers in there with her instead of just leaving her in there plain. I'm just wondering if the font could be a little bigger because at the moment it's hard for me to read it :)

@Maiki : Is that a line going through the ribbon? o.0

@Reeis : That is one piece of shining art *A* Interesting that you say he's a demi-god... Percy Jackson much? :D I'm curious which god is his parent. On a personal note, I feel charm has a more subtle effect. Quellis looks like his father might be Helios :D As for the focus of the image, my eyes are more drawn to the two shiny white spots behind his head rather =v='''

@Sara : Oooh suductive :D Like the others mentioned, she's a little on the chubby side :P Also, just becareful of cleanup (the little shadow bleeding from the wing at the back into the front)

@Daphne: I like my women with a little meat :P LOL!
and yeah i actually didn't realize the bleed on her wing @_@ will fix that.

I'm amused how most of us went for the 'lucky charm' definition rather than the others because I expected the opposite. XD; Guess we need to widen up our minds a bit, heh.

Daphne: Innocent artwork at first sight, eerie in second glance. I love how you can change the audience's impressions that way. :D And as for my art, lol no, those are just lines that happen to go the same way. XD; Hahah, didn't notice that happened...

Y'ng: SO CUTE, the girl and her story! XD I don't have any problems with this one, great job!

Natasha: I LOLed at your "William The First"!! That's an amusing way to put it. XD That face expression there is BRILLIANT.

MH: Oh, I didn't notice the banana until I read the comments. ;; I agree the pic's very cute but a lil' distance between the banana would give it a better touch.

Andrew: Exotic...! But I got confused on whether the black strip of clothing on her was hair or not. But this is by a mouse!? Amazing!

Kelly: Aaaaawww, this definitely caught my attention for its cuteness yet it has a image gap with its sad story behind it. That pulled a string in my heart and I think you did a good job with this.

Reeis: Hay thar hunk. ;D This is very shiny and pretty! I have no qualms with the colours, I think it suits the pic.

Sara: Now hay thar sexy. *A* *punched* Everyone already commented on the chubbiness so I'll spare you from that. :P Nice subject pick, though! And funny you mentioned sunset/rise for my pic, because that was the scenery I was aiming for. XD Thanks!

Nat here. Comment time! \^ ^/

@ daphne: i freaking hate you coz u can color so nice and never teach meeeeee T_T LOL! great job! love the deatils on the chains! its amazing!

@ ying: i like the overall color and coposition but i wished the colors would have more contrast/ brighter. coz right now it looks a bit dull :s

@ mh: i soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo love this style! i want more!!!!!! X3

@ andrew: i have to say this is very artistic! i love the style you have put in and i see your skills are improving! you make her look classy and elegant, love the way her body flow and the colors :) great job!

@ kell: LMAO!!!! THE LIL GIRL IN THE BOTTLE IS GOING TO SUFFOCATE!!! where is the hole for air? XD

@ maiki: HUAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! I SO LOVE THIS!!!! WILLIAM THE BG! ITS NICE THE WAY IT IS EVEN WITH PLAIN BG! makes it look more hopeful/dreamy that way XD

@ reeis: i freaking hate you for being able to color like that too!!! @A@ sorry i cant find any flaws to comment. still in awe..

@ sara: hey i have a lot of meat here, do i qualify? LMAO!! William the FIRST! i love the style but i prefer her thinner (own taste) and some bg please~* oh and a full body would be lovely too~* probly more skin as well and.. LOL!!!!!!

@ adam: where the fat is urs? PUNISHMENT!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!

Hey cuttles

Thanks for the comments..Yeah her hands can still use some work and I need to work on making the characters not look so stiff..As for placement..totally my bad..din see it properly..:P..Yeah and will try getting a tablet asap!!

Now for my comments

@ daphne: Whoa I really like this style of colouring from you.Its like oil painting. But her eyes kinda look scary..Maybe a bit too big? But I'm loving the trapped princes in the bracelet..

@ ying: I can really see that this style is your strength.Really like the character design..Just the colour of the bg looks kinda dull to me.

@ mh: Wah this is my favorite piece from you..Damn cute!! I like the way you coloured her in..

@ kell: Haha so cute..She has a very big head of hair makes her look damn cute. But I really like the style..Just the fonts a bit hard to read..

@ maiki: This is amazing.I didnt even notice the sleeve. And I think it looks great without the background.Make Aqua the main focus..

@ reeis: Haha this one is sooo artistic..Looks awesome..Just i kinda wish the background wasnt so strong..Kinda take away the focus from his face and eyes..His expression is really great though..Nice one!!

@ sara: She seriously looks like a different version of morrigan from dark stalkers..Does look a tab bit chubby though but if you say you like your ladies with a bit of curves then its all good...:P

@Daphne: Awesome colouring as usual T.T *envy envy* i love the details of the bracelet, it's soooooooooo detailed!!! good job! eyes are a little scary though :p

@Y'ng: Cute story... i love the fact that your artwork always has a story behind it. my only comment is the background colour, grey colour made the whole picture dull.

@Nat: LOLLL!! It's all about "William the First" xD not much comment. love the simplicity. haha this is so funny xD

@Andrew: Very cool drawing. Wicked! colouring is getting better. the girl's hand seems a little long. Good job for a mouse work!

@Kelly: AAAaaaaaaaa!!! i love this bottle!!! can i have it?? anyone sells this anywhere? xD

@Maiki: Very manga-ish. haha love the black border at the top and bottom of the drawing, makes it look like a scene from a movie.

@Reeis: Woahhhh! cool! but something doesnt look right with the hand, but i cant tell where went wrong (is it just me or what? xD)

@Sara: i guess there's something wrong with the proportion. the shoulder part seems a little weird. :S

@Adam: Good luck with the brocolli haha :D

Thank you very much to all of you for your comments, highly appreciated~ & yes, my typo r too small, i jus realised tat XD
to nat: theres hole in the cork of the bottle. Its on d top so u cant see it LMAO!! XDXD

My turn to comment!! XDXD

:Daphne: Nuff said. The painting skills, shading n idea etc etc..LOVED IT!! amazed by the speed of ur coloring skills. The bracelet is what i liked d most. muahahah if onli i hav that bracelet, i wud loved to store guys in them *ahem* o crap, wat am i sayin?? LOL!!
But i got no comments on ur technique n all cos its all nice :)

:Y'ng: Till now, i still wonder how u, daphne, reeis & maiki color the works. I realli duno! Pls teach me guys DX
Cute little witch, i salute you for alwez coming up with stories behind your drawings. Meaningful yet entertaining :) The cat & broom looks cute XDXD But other then that, i assume grey for ur bg realli turns down avthing. could have used a more brighter color o sumthin? and the broom, his leg looks kinda stiff n too neat. Mite consider using brush to create some uneven strokes to feel more broom like :D

:Nat: WILLIAM D FAT!!! XDXD too funny XDXD smart of u to use that as ur charm idea XDXD it looks like some comic strip in magazine o such XDXD NICE ONE!!

:Mh: LOL!! i saw this art in ur fb edi b4 u submit. Its soo cute!! can really see ure puttin more effort in ur drawings edi. Something i long to see from u :) I like the girls hair, its nicely done, felt like u can touch it. the japanese amulet..fabulous!! the ribbon on d amulet is soo nicely done!! u gotta teach me hw to do tat XP
Now critique time! XDXD ur clover looks flat n out of proportion. need more shading n it wud be nice if u add some texture to it too. n yes d banana shud be placed further away. I didnt saw it too till i took a more close up look. the banana n d girl dress shud have more shadows n so is the bunny. Thank you very much 8)

:Andrew: Whoah!! with a mouse?? HOLY MOLLY!! thoese fine lines r done wit mouse?? my god!! u r good!! dun get a wacom, stick to mouse n master it n u'll be unique XDXD A geisha for charm~ interesting~!SHES NAKED!! XDXD I like her features, really has a geisha feel to it. But her hair needs more highlights/strokes? else it looks like a piece of black cloth. Avone has tok abt ur hands edi so i'll pass. I dont get what r thoese black cloth o something from her shoulder till her body? They look wierd, like kinda stiff if they're actualli cloth n is it me o i saw ur red ground has been crop out on the left side?
But overall, d idea is good, u hav improved alot frm d first time u join in, congratulation :) hope to see a even better work frm ya! Keep it up~!

:Maiki: Another nice work frm ya~! white bg is a good idea. when i first saw it, it gave me a very peaceful feel like the white seems to glow d more i see it, very pure n nice. It also makes Aqua stands out so we will focus on her more. With those black borders on it, it felt soo much like anime mvs. GREAT job!!

:Reeis: WHOAH!! reeis!! how long does it take for u to do tat?? MY GOD!! soo golden. salute ur coloring skill indeed! I like ur bg! awesome~!
ok critique section!!
his eyes doesnt draw me in cos they dun shine tat brightly nor is catchy enuff to catch our attention. What caught my attention when i first saw it was ur bg wit a sense of depth & his hand doin some magic spells. But His hand/arm is wierd like too stiff o not connected to d body. The hand felt really really wierd.
But overall, its indeed sumthing new from u Good job!

:Sara: woooooo dis is new!! sumthin totally diff frm ur previous work :)
seductive indeed, she sure can lure mens XP Nice!!

but yeah, as per wat daphne said, ur shoulder looks too short, kinda out of porportion. N since u like ur galto hav more meat, im ok wit it too XP (man she does had d size XP)

My god!! those r one fat comments frm me! MUAHHAHAH

Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback and encouragement. I'll certainly make the eyes more size realistic in the future ;)

Hopefully from the next theme onwards I'll be able to practice a little speed painting, so it might look more horrible. I don't mind showing you guys how I paint, I just don't know how to o_o I also don't really recommend it cause for instance this image took me a good 16-20 hours from sketch to completion... hence the want to experiment with speed painting :D

Hope to bring it up to standard soonish!

LOL! I noticed the comments regarding my background color. Just to let u all know that I've tried using bright colors like orange, yellow, lime green, sky blue, light beige, peach, pink & etc. Somehow it looks horrible due to the overly colour contrast & it blends badly with the main characters. It kinda overkill the main highlight. That's why I chose to use dull color (grayish blue) in order to give more focus of the main characters.

I would really appreciate if u guys give me some colour suggestion rather than saying color dull only. What BG color should I used for this artwork without killing my main characters & unify the whole artwork together? Maybe I will hv a better idea of where I go wrong. Plus, i can apply it for my next artwork.

Anyways, thank for the comments again ya! ^__^

Reeis here,

Been delayed cos of CNY, family's painting the whole house. Again. yay me.

@Kelly - yesh, work on ur font size. Had to get Y'ng and Sara to explain it to me at 4am in the morn, wudn't have got it without them XD;; That said awesome job with the composition! I appreciate finding the Snow White costume, really drove the message home, so sad for the little princess... Also, I liked subtle golden sparkles =3 how did u do that? did u use a normal PS brush? any special settings?

@Maiki - I support simple BG too! XD girl's sleeve going in that direction made me think she was twirling, just thought u shud know. Awesome way of drawing Aqua, her gesture strongly conveys her hope for a reunion. Will continue to bug u to CG a sunset from now on, ganbatte... >D

@myself - hmm...hand still looks wrong, eh? looks like posing in front of mirror might not have been such a good idea. ah well, we live and learn XD;;;

@Sara - Reeis wants to know is she free on saturday night XD lol! anyways, since they've mentioned the body posture & proportions d, so I'll skip repeating that. Coloring makes her look squeaky-shiny, I wonder if u intended it.
Otherwise, awesome job on her expression! I particularly like the heart shape her lips make =3 can see u're trying new directions in ur artwork - first time seeing something a little flirty from u in Cuttle. I support!

Reeis here, responding you ur feedbackssss XD

@Y'ng
hmm... interesting that the subject of backgrounds keep cropping up in Cuttle.
Here's my suggestions (with Reference to my comment on Daphne's request in Innocence)

1.Just leave Blank, with some shadow's. That way ppl'll might just see it as a completed character sketch, and not a full blown illustration with something missing

2. Abstract colors, like what u have done. Don't change the lucky charms floating around, just recommend that u try dark purples and peach-pink hues like this piece from Oh8 on DA - (http://bit.ly/bkScyI) something to do with the triadic-color-harmony theory. We gotta look up Color Theory from Foundation again, non?
also, I feel this sort of color combination can be made to feel magical. Most children books I've read tend to use rich purple with yellow stars or moons for their good witches/wizards.

3. Put dear Winnie, Selina & Mr.Wood in a witches' room - complete with bed, window, shelves and other props. Draw this out as though it was a scene out of a children's book =D even rough strokes to suggest a background should be enough.

@Daph - Never really thought about his lineage b4, thank you for planting a new idea in me head. Helios is interesting XD I called him a demi-god (as in a lesser god) mostly cos in his story, Q here is kinda the engineer/janitor of the cosmos - when God said "let there be light", he went and got the ladder and the lightbulbs. Still developing his story, will share once I've something solid, hope to get ur feedback then also XD
Will try out ur suggestion on Quellis's eyes, thanks for input.

On sharing ur painting process - try this software? (http://camstudio.org/) It records ur desktop. U can speed up/edit the final video until u get something like this (http://bit.ly/a7ctAN)

On speed painting - I managed to speed up my process just by doing this: don't draw lines. Sketch straight-away with paint blobs on ur canvas, then refine XD that is what I did for my Charm artwork. Referred to Digital Painitng 2 by Ballistic Publishing(http://bit.ly/3hMCXn)Try it out, let me know what u think

@Kelly - from sketch to finish, it took me...what? 7 hours? 10 hours if u count the touch ups and looking for the right symbol to use for the sparkly-charm-thingies. Think I tried about 5-7 brushes before I finally settled for this one XD;; Please tell me how u did ur glowing-sparkles in ur artwork, might save me life in future projects.

@Nat - Don't hate me! Just look this up (http://bit.ly/3hMCXn) well worth the RM180+ I paid for it XDDD<333 wanna get Vol.1 soon... and some anatomy books. Any good recommendations?

@Andrew - thanks for pointing it out ^^;; and don't listen to them! get tablet! damn fun XDDD

@Sara - will work on the eyes abit more. and yesh, intended the washed-out ness XD

@Adam - when u do ur Heart + Broccoli artwork, please don't draw up another health ad. I get pestered at work everyday by some health-drink ppl. I'm fed up of them chasing me down to the office with broccoli/celery/alfafa shakes >D THANK YOU!

@Reeis : Thanks for the links man! I usually don't draw lines for my paintings, but I was a little indecisive about how to colour this because of the trip and not having enough time then giving it a shot and actually having enough time. The line art took a sizable chunk of the development time so I totally understand what you're pointing at :D

@Y'ng : I actually thought your background was fine :) Less distracting then the missed angle of the pink box

nat here.

ying: i meant just take this picture here and adjust the "brightness and contrast" of it. not change the whole color lol.

andrew: u forgot to comment mine :(

kell: just one hole? poor thg... XD

Reeis here

@Daph - No prob XD would love to see u at work, do let us know if you can get a video of your drawing up on YouTube, yeah?

@Nat - U see the plant sticking out of Kell's charm bottle? If it's big enough for the plant, it's big enough for the little princess, k? >D stop worrying about air holes!

@Nat ; Ahhh sorry!!..So weird cause i thought I commented on it..I was saying that when I first saw it I really did go wtf..hahah :P..Then I read the description and i was still blur..haha

But I think the picture is damn funny.Looks straight out of a comic strip. His expression is classic and I like how you coloured only the charm and the rest is in a grey hue.

@ Reeis : I think it's in a com lab no? Those spheres behind him look like webcams?
